SASE's

(Zone 7a)

First and Formost...I love people and LOVE to share with others what I have..But I have over 30 envelopes here and don't have time to play SuperWoman. I'm no longer removing old postage, labels, too much tape, re-taping envelopes, taping on addresses, or guessing what someone wants. I have also received notes requesting seeds I never offered for SASE. Therefore envelopes like this wont be returned. Unless you have an email where I definitely offered this seed to you. I have received wonderful letters and notes from some. I deeply appreciate your gratitude and kind words. Happy Gardening and enjoy your many extra seeds I put in.

SASE= Self Addressed Stamped Envelope.
Therefore I should be able to drop in seeds, seal (easily), and placed in the mailbox.

SASBE= Self Addressed Stamped Bubble Envelope.
Therefore I should be able to drop in seeds, seal (easily), and place in the mailbox.

Respectfully Yours,

That is nice to sharing the seeds!

I hope I didn't make a mistake with mine. If so, please tell me so I know what I did wrong. Thanks!

LOL LOL..that's the problem..I don't know who is who..I just look for the note and drop the seeds in. If you don't get it back with 2 weeks then email me and we can work something out :-D

I'm pretty new to seed trading and have a questions. Are you NOT wanting SASEs or SASBEs that arrive in the mail with a return address label and stamps inside?
The only person I have traded for a SASBE told me to do it that way (including a note inside as to what our trade was) to save on envelopes, is this not acceptable practice? I'd really like to know for future ref, I hate to cause anyone unnecessary work.
Thanks,
Vicki

Hi Vicki, It's really up to the person you're receiving the seeds from. I usually don't mind the labels pre-addressed inside the envelope. This is great! But some get a little more complicated...LOL Because they are actually not labels (just paper). Then I have to pull off old labels, and tape...etc. Those that have sticky lables are easy. I just put them on top of the old labels. Hope this helps.

Thanks!

I recently sent an SASBE to someone.

1) I self-addressed the bubble envelope and affixed sufficient postage for the seeds' trip to me.
2) I then took a piece of printer paper and folded it twice(bottom up & top down ) forming a makeshift envelope around the bubble mailer.
3) I opened the top flap up and then glued the two meeting lower sides of the paper together making the pocket part of an envelope.
4) On the pocket's inside, upper edge I wrote a note stating what seeds I had requested (and received confirmation), as well as my online name and real name.
5) On the front of the pocket I wrote the seed provider's address annd affixed sufficient postage.
6) I then slipped the SASBE inside the pocket, folded the top (flap) down, sealed it with some additional glue and dropped it in the mail.

Several days later it was received - as mailed.

As this worked so well for us both I will probably use this method exclusively in the future for SASBEs.

Thats a great method! I'll give it a try next time.

I mailed the bubble wrap envelope, with postage inside. Plus, I added a self-adhesive mailing label and a note about which seeds to send. Haven't received anything yet though.

Our postage office does not carry .49 cent stamps and doesn't remember having them for a long time. Has anyone had that problem? I always have to use a .37 cent, plus three .04 cent stamps. This seems unnecessarily troublesome for the shipper.

My postal clerk looked at me like I'd grown an extran nose when I asked for them...

You can also buy .10 and .01 cent stamps. My post office used to carry a .12 stamp for the extra postage. I have not asked in a while. I guess they change the prices too often to keep upping all the little stamps. :)

Pocola, OK(Zone 7a)

I think you can order .49 cent stamps from www.usps.com

Kim, I sent you a white bubble envelope with stamps, but I can't remember if I included a note of what I was sending it for. It was for Tinantia Erecta seeds.

I looked at the site and couldn't find anything closer than a 45 cent stamp. I guess I could use a 45 cent and a 4 cent stamp together.

Willamette Valley-OS, OR(Zone 8a)

The Easiest is the 48-Cent Stamp and a 1-Cent Stamp.
But if You Want to Donate a Penny and Make it Easier on Everybody The PO Always Has 50-Cent Stamps...lol.

Now I Use...
37-Cent Stamps
5-Cent Stamps...
and alot of...
1-Cent Stamps.
(I Ask...
How Do They Ever Make a 1-Cent Stamp(4-Color Printing Process) and Self Adhesive Back for 1-Cent?)

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Good question! When they told me they don't make 49 cent stamps, I just said fine - I'll take 3 of every stamp you have under 37 cents and make my own combo! I think she was really wishing they made a 49 center!

LOL LOL LOL!
