Has anybody ever heard of a pocketbook plant? I just spotted on in Goodhouse Keeping mag and loved it!!! Never saw one before though. Anyone else?

I saw them a time or two at WM...usually around Valentine's Day but they were *really* pricey!! And I've never bought one out of fear of killing it, lol!

If I recall correctly they're short-lived annuals? I think they can be grown relatively easily from seed? Could be wrong on both of these points, though.

Calceolaria is the botanical name.....didn't have time to search for more info, though.

Let us know if you get it and how it goes!

They are whitefly paradise. Pocket book plants are generally available from garden centers and florists as a gift plant. kinda like the little azaleas and cyclamen and chrysanthemums. definitely a houseplant here in this zone.
