Is there another name for it?

Here is a place you can order it. But they aren't available now. I did find out it is a tree or a shrub. They call it a tetrapanax Papyrifera Rex.

Sue, if you can get things from the UK, here is a site where you can put your name on a list to get one. http://www.mulu.co.uk/itemdisplay.php?itemid=99

I just found out it is a Rice Paper Plant, I am like you I want one as well. I was following up on it yesterday and decided then I had to have one. If you find where to get one let me know.

I did go in and put my name on the list to be notified when they are available.

I just discovered that a post can be edited after it is posted. Am I ever dumb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this is the one that I have. Mine grows huge. Not a great picture as this plant is in the back of my bed and it's near impossible to get to know. I'm 5' 7" and it's way over my head. The leaves also get HUGE. It does spread by runners.

How invasive is it Kristi?? Have you ever had to control it?

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Root, I've not had to control it. I think if it didn't die back every year it would be a problem. I wish I had a good picture of it to show everyone. I'm going to go out in a little and cut some of the leaves off in case we get the frost their talking about. Then I'll be able to show you how large they are.

Don't get lost in there,if we don't hear from you,we will send out a search party.

Awesome leaves.

You have a very beautiful plant, maybe you won't get any frost.

We I have got completely sidetracked at home and have just remembered the thread I started!! Sorry for not replying and thank you for the information on this plant.

Datdog - what soil is it planted in? I have fairly heavy clay - do you think it would do OK in that.

By the way I have now heard of Tetrapanax Steroidal Giant!!! Could this be even bigger than Rex?!!

Sue
