L'Amour
Trying out my new digital camera
Congratulations on your new camera. I love the photographs; you take great photos!
Thanks, Delecie. I've been wanting a digital camera for a long time, and last week our daughter gave us one for our anniversary. I've sure got a lot to learn though. I've never been very good at taking pictures, and this camera is so different to anything I've ever used before. There's not much blooming now to take pictures of, but I can't wait until Christmas to take pictures of my Christmas Village all set up.
All-right!!!! ;) ...lol. What kind of camera did you get? Gosh those are pretty shots!
Great pics, Sylvia.
Thanks, Pam. It is a Kodak Easy Share DX7630 6.1 MP. I know absolutely nothing about digital cameras.
It sure does. Great minds must work alike. LOL
Awesome crisp pictures Sylvia. I'm so glad you are now able to show us your place and especially the brugs. That L'Amour bloom is really nice.
Looking great. You will have so much fun!
How neat! Your place looks great! Congratulations on the new camera!
Thanks. I couldn't believe it when I opened the package. Our daughter said it was for Father's Day, my birthday and our anniversary. lol I told her it should be for Christmas as well. I just wish it were Spring though. Not many flowers to take pics of right now.
I wish we had a pretty fence as a backdrop to that bed. When we built our house, the neighbors on both sides had that kind of fence, so when we fenced across the back we used the same fencing. I hate it. It is so ugly, and now I don't know how we can ever change it. I don't know what will happen when it gets old and rickety. When we put it in, there was a vacant lot behind us. We then added the raised bed and planted. When the people behind us built they plant shrubs along the fence on their side right up against the fence. It is going to be quite a problem ever replacing it.
Hi Mini, great pictures. You're gonna love it. I've never been much with a camera, and used to finish the 'Easter' pictures at Christmas, then get the roll developed (about 1 roll per year). Now I go out and click away, come in and download and go again. I have thousands of pictures in the past year. Sort of like a garden journal. I can look back and see what was blooming through the year. I keep the date stamp on, (the older I get the more help I need remembering).
With your fence, have you thought about planting some type of shrub that would become a 'living fence'?
Enjoyed your pics. L'Amour is a good bloomer for me also.
lhughes, the flowerbed in front of the fence is raised and is about 8 ft. wide all along the fence. If we planted shrubs to cover the fence, they would take up the whole bed and there would be no room for the plants. That is what the people on the other side of the fence did, and I hate it. Not only will it be next to impossible to replace the fence with their shrubs planted up against it, everytime he trims their shrubs all the clippings fall into our flower bed. They are a nice young couple that you never even know when they are at home, so I guess I shouldn't complain.
Beautiful digital pictures!
You know what they say....."practice makes perfect", so keep taking those snapshots. We love seeing your beautiful plants.
Sylvia, very pretty sharp pictures. I'd say you are doing just great. I don't know very much about digital cameras either. I've had mine a couple of years and still can't take very good pictures, especially closeups. I am going to a digital camera class next months so maybe I will learn something. Donna
hi minniegranny i have had my digital camera for two years and just recently learned how to take pictures and send them through the computer. i guess i learn slowly, but really enjoy sharing pictures with all of you great people. bob
I think it's going to be great, because before I either had to wait until a roll of film was full, or take a bunch of useless pictures just to be able to show the good ones. This way you don't waste film, and if the picture doesn't turn out, you can immediately take another one.
I don't know what I'd do without my digital. I have many pictures stored in my computer that are not really good, but I'm too lazy to go through and delete right now. It will be a good winter job.
I filled my old 40GB HD with photos and had to get a larger one...this time I got 120GB !!! Hopefully it will take me awhile to fill this one!
Gosh, that is a lot of pictures. I'd love to be able to afford the ink and photo quality paper to make a book of all my good pictures. It would cost hundreds or maybe thousands of dollars just to buy the photo paper, but it sure would make a great scrapbook.
Brugie...I have a good web-site for Epson paper and Epson ink cartridges at a cheaper price than the stores...ATLEX...they have other brands too.
I have alot of pictures printed out, as I make and sell notecards. I love pictures!!! What me compulsive!!
Want to share the site with us? The more I save on this kind of stuff, the more I can spend on plants. LOL!
Sure, Brugie...I would be happy too...it's http://www.atlex.com/
Let me know if you find it as good as I do! It costs for S&H, but maybe adds $1. to each ink cartridge.
Sorry for hi jacking this thread!
Thanks. They don't carry my cartridges. I don't do a lot of printing right now, so it isn't a big deal. However, I would have liked to find a good price on the cartridges. Thanks for your help.
Congrats on your new camera, Sylvia! You are going to love it!!! I can't imagine ever gardening without a digital...Gretchen
Now, if I just had some more blooms to show.
Congratulations on your new camera minniegrannie. The pictures are great!
Now all I need is a few of your brugs, Monika. LOL
Congrats Sylvia!!! Nice pics! You deserved the camera. :)
Thanks, Michele. How are you doing? Haven't seen you posting lately. How's the baby?
