Help - how do I bring in a tiny, very scared, stray kitten?

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

This little kitty is very tiny - barely weaned, if at all, and has a very loud, piercing meow that goes all night...calling his mother, I imagine. He's been running around our neighbourhood for 4 or 5 days now. I did manage to get him to eat a little tinned food on a saucer, but other than that he won't come near - runs away if I get any closer than 7-8 feet. Obviously distressed, and uncomfortable (it's cold & rainy today), and scared of everything & everyone.

I'd like to get him inside to a warm place, and then over to the SPCA where they can take care of him & find his family, or a new home - but he won't come near. I don't want to just wait until exhaustion sets in and he's too weak to run away anymore. Maybe one of those humane traps might be the best bet - if anyone has any recommendations, I would be very grateful! Thanks in advance,

Shannon
