What brugs are credited to Gloria for hybridizing? She had a few of them, but I'm not sure which specific ones are hers.
I know Jessie Noel & Becca Lynn. I also know that she grew out Whiskers and Audrey O.
Any help would be appreciated.
Also, if anyone will have any cuttings of her hybrids i would love a piece.

Glorias hybrids
She had a beautiful white, 'Ihilani' (Hawaiian name) and 'American Pride', a yellow. I don't have any of her hybrids, but I do have some seedlings of hers that did not bloom this summer and I'm holding them over for next year.
I think Old Glory is also one of her last ones. Most of the ones she made were yellows.

I have some of Gloria's hybrids. She was always good to me.
I have Becca Lynn, Jessie Noel, Ollie, Audrey O, Whiskers, and either Old Glory or Bilixi Belle ..we never did figure out which. lol
But think Mary in LA has most of Gloria's. You might try her.

I dont have Ollie (i think thats one of the ones i killed) nor do i have old glory or biloxi belle. If I remember correctly, old glory came out around the time of 9/11.
I'll email Mary, and also give roz a call to see if she has any of the older ones.

I think I read somewhere that Gloria grew out Whiskers for Vicki Harding, who was the hybridizer. Of course I could be dead wrong on that.................so if I am, I apologize up front :)
She also grew one and named it after Vickies' DH, can't remember the name right off. Think pic of it is on ABADS.

You are correct on Whiskers. I can remember seeing it when it was and unnamed still in trials. Although back then, trials consisted of "wow, its pretty, what cha think we should name it", lol
She was very specific in saying that it was a VH cross.
Not sure about the one for VH husband.
Ollie is named after Vicki's dad
Trish grew out the brug that was named for Vicki's husband, Trish also grew out one of Glorias seeds that is named Gloria Lessner.
I think the one named after Vicki's husband is "Ellis".

Jen, where did you live? I've been here all my life, originally in the middle of town then moved to the Irmo area in the 70s and Lake Murray in the 90s and now I'm back in town.
Whiskers is blooming now, along with Ambrosia (child of Whiskers), Dr Seuss and 2 seedlings. What a delightful aroma my yard had this morning. I took lots of photos while they were fresh. It sure was hard to put the camera down and come to work.
I lived off of Garners Ferry Rd. My ex was stationed at Fort Jackson and i worked in 5 pts at a florist called the Blossom Shop. I really liked the town. [
We were there during the Hottie and the blowfish craze and used to see them around quite often. I loved Riverbanks zoo, too!!!!
