this one is a photo keeper!!! Fabulous color....what a great camera you must have...thank you......who doesn't love poppies ...I have never been able to grow them ...my aunt did and one of my favorite paintings is poppies.

My camera is not fantastic but keeps me satisfied. I'm actually thinking of getting a new one. The one advantage of my current camera is the macro setting, hence, for flowers, its wonderful.

I agree with delphinium46. This is a great color for a poppie and I like that the picture shows the still wrinkled look of the petals from coming out of the pod. Thanks for sharing the picture. If I can ask where did you find the seeds for this variety of poppie?

I found this poppy at a local nursery. I bought it simply because I never tried one before. I really didn't even know what it would look like. As it happens, the poppy is short-lived..probably 2-3 years, but it gently self-seeds so I always seem to have 2-3 plants in the garden. I'm a member of two seed exchanges, the Ontario Rock Garden Society and the North American Rock Garden Society. They always offer this one.
