A huge and heartfelt thank-you to everyone for the beautiful flowers and well wishes today. I am extremely blessed to be 40 years old today. My birthday celebration began at work yesterday with a wonderful breakfast of assorted muffins, bagels and cream cheese, mini quiches, bacon, sausage patties, and orange juice. The remnants of yesterday's breakfast and some gifts are pictured below:
After breakfast yesterday my friend Kathi and I left work early and met our friend Rich. We attended a plant sale at Searle Bros. Nursery and the two of them surprised me by buying as birthday gifts the plants that I had selected. The first plant is Agave marginata:

These plants belong to Kathi. The three of us were really excited because Kathi purchased the large Caryota palm for only $20.00!
After our fun but exhausting time at the nursery, Kathi and Rich took me to lunch at Romeu's Cuban Restaurant. Here I am flanked by my two dear friends:

That's so true Bonnie. Gardening provides me with a measure of peace and I am blessed to be able to garden year round. I feel cold if we have temperatures in the 60s or below but I quickly warm up after I swing my pick axe a few times. However, those days with temperatures in the 60s or below are my favourite days for gardening. :-)
