Aloha..its an acalypha of some kind. I haven't seen one this color combination before.Very red not pink like others. How was OZ? Any plants follow yu home? :-)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Great color on that plant. I like it.

Kyle...I think it is easier to walk out with gold bars at Fort Knox than it is to take plants out of Oz!!! I brought back about 70 new (some not even in circulation) hoyas and dischidias and some gorgeous Euphorbia (x lomi) with 'flowers' the size of silver dollars....but the USDA won't let the Euphorbias in the country...something about Cites even tho they are hybrids. Alas...they will have to live in some "rescue garden" for others to enjoy! Did get some Pink Torch Ginger seeds....shhhhhhhhh.

Liz, I root them in a mist bench in a vermiculite base mix. After rooting I plant them in 4 inch pots till spring.

Thanks Eclipse. I don't have the cool one you have but I'd like to propagate the rusty looking one I have.

I think riker's on the right track with Acalypha. I know there are lots of red foliage-type acalyphas out there.
