Does anyone grow these tropicals;

Red Jade Vine, Green Jade Vine, and climbing Ylang Ylang?

I would like to see pictures of leaves, haven't had much luck on Google searches, they only show the blooms! So, if anyone can direct me to a link that shows the leaves of these, or if they grow them and send me a pic of the leaves I would be very grateful! :O)

Thanks,
Raven

Yes, thank you Delecie, that helped! I could see the leaves of the Ylang Ylang and the green jade very well, but not the red jade.

I'm trying to figure out how big the leaves of the red jade vine are, and if this is the species with the fuzzy/hairy leaves or is the Mucana Bennettii a smooth leaf variety.

Off to search some more!
Thanks again,

You're welcome Raven :-)

The Mucuna bennetti that I've seen have smooth leaves. In Tropical Flowering Plants by Kirsten Albrecht Llamas, the leaves are described as: trifoliolate; leaflets leathery, center leaflet elliptic, to 4 in. long, lateral leaflets asymmetrical.

I had the green jade vine last year. It cannot take below 50* or it dies. I have a ylang ylang tree, didn't know they came in a vine.

Thanks so much for the written info Delecie, that was exactly what I needed!

Some wonderful family members have just gifted me with these 3 vines and I wanted to make sure they were correct, I would have been mortified if they spent that kind of money only to have someone rob them with "creative" labelling, you know? What a wonderful house warming gift, I was absolutely stunned!

Calalily, I have wanted the Ylang Ylang vine for years!!! I had initially thought that they were only trees too, but a few years ago I found out that they came in vine form also, and decided that I had to get one when I got a greenhouse! They are supposed to smell just as heavenly as the tree, I'm so excited, I can't wait to have flowers, though that won't be for years probably, good thing I'm a patient person!! :O)

Thanks so much for all your help!!!

Hi Raven Locks....all have glabrous leaves...at least here.

Both the green and red jades should have support MADE OUT OF THE STRONGEST STEEL PIPE YOU CAN FIND. pvc WILL CRUMBLE. Also...don't grow it near ANYthing it can climb on!!!

YlangYlang vine also gets huge thorns on it...

Have fun....

Raven, I went to the links and saw the vine and its supposed to smell just like the tree! I'm still waiting on my tree to flower. The winds here in the spring were a bit rough on it, but now it's growing new leaves. Its about 5ft tall.
You got wonderful housewarming gifts! The flowers on the jade vines are so pretty.

Thank you for the advice Aloha, I will do as you say, there were no instuctions or info with the plants, I really appreciate your help!
And thank you for the heads up about the thorns, I had no idea....

Calalily, does the tree have thorns? Good luck with the tree, I envy your zone!! Though I don't envy your buggies....! :O)

Raven, I don't remember seeing thorns. I'll go check.
I had no idea there were sooooooo many bugs down here! We're having another run of cats eating everything, but the lady bugs, lacewings and mantis have eaten the mealies that were so bad last month. The migrating birds are coming back, so maybe they will eat the cats!

Raven....I have been told that the YlangYlang vine grows sort of like a rampant shrub...not really a vine like the Mucuna, for instance...and that it is perfect to plant at a barrier to your property where you don't want intruders!!!!

Raven:

You have received some wonderful housewarming gifts. I hope you enjoy them immensely and I look forward to seeing photographs of them.
