I just recently purchased some hibiscus liners on Ebay. I was very pleased when I received them. They are all about 6 to 8 in. tall and very healthy small plants. They are all gorgeous hybrids and only cost around $2.50 each. The seller is a super nice, honest person who lives in Florida. Her greenhouses have been hit by all 4 of the recent hurricanes, but she says it could have been much worse and has faith all will recover. If anyone is interested in purchasing any of her hibicus, please either post here, or email me and I will give you her email address. She really could use the business right now, and all of her hibiscus are really unusual and beautiful.
Hibiscus Liners
Can we see any pics of which ones she has for sale? I am always interested in newer ones that I don't have.
Thank you
do they come named?
ely
Yes they do. They are all really beautiful. You can go to Ebay and call up Hibiscus Liner (without the s) and then call up the completed ones. You can see pictures with names of some of them. Also, she has a whole lot more than that. She sent me pictures of around 10 more yesterday.
I've seen them on eBay, and was tempted, but space will be tight in the greenhouse this year.
Now, if I could order them for next spring. . .
Why don't you email them and ask? I can give you their email address.
I just ordered 5 from her. I'm sure it's the same person. Her name is Carol. She's sending them out Tues. I can hardly wait.
Minigrannie, when you recieved yours what size pot did you put them in? I'd like to have everything lined up and ready when they get here.
Robinz
Yes, Carol is the lady. She is extremely honest and you will be pleased with your plants. I planted mine in 4" pots, because I didn't want them to have too much soil to stay damp during the cold weather. Mine have already grown quite a bit. I only lost one out of the many I ordered, and that was because we had a lot of rain and it stayed too wet. She wanted to replace it right away, but I told her to wait until next Spring, because I would be ordering some more and she could send it then.
I found her on eBay, but what I see are only around that price if you buy 10 at a time. Her single liners are $9.99 and are different varieties from the ones for $2.50 each.
Did you get a different deal?
Wonder if she would be interested in supplying a co-op with hibiscus.......
[Edited to add...]
I wrote and asked her if she'd be interested in supplying a co-op. I'll post her response here when I get it.

I bought from her earlier, too. I got 5, and so far, so good, all still alive in spite of the toad who insists on burying into the pots. It isn't really explained well in the auctions, but the single liner price includes shipping, and you can pick the variety (or varieties) that you want from any of the ones that she has listed. She lists one, five or ten plant auctions, and you can mix and match any variety to make up your total.
She told me that 2 other DGers had recently written to her about doing a co-op. One of the DGers says she will probably go with another supplier and start her co-op around Feb. I haven't asked the other DGer Carol spoke about.
Carol said she would sell them through a DG co-op for $1.90 a piece, plus S&H. (Probably 1-5=$6.75; 6-10=$9.55; 11-30=$11.35 which is what she charges now.) She would also give a 30 day guarantee against damage in shipping, etc.
She tells me she has around 40 varieties now and can probably get 20-30 more by March.
She will also delay shipping till the buyer wants them sent.
This far south late Feb is the beginning of our spring so I would rather order my hibiscus now so I can get them in pots and let them start working on a root system.
What about y'all? Do you think it would be too soon to start putting in orders for hibiscus now or would it be better to wait until Feb?
It's too late now for me here, but I might be interested if you decided to do something in the spring.
If this a different one than exotic hibiscus, (Curt Sinclair), I would be interested. AKnapp is asking about doing a coop from there. I already ordered all I wanted from them this summer.
The varieties are the same. they were partners for a couple of years, with him doing the breeding, and Garden Angels (ProPlants) doing the production.
I ordered Hot Ticket, from Curt, it never started growing. Told him about it, he sent me another plant, same thing, never started to grow, I babied it, sprayed it, etc. Never said anything more. Now, I see they no longer have it, red with white throat. Kyle has a pic on his thread.
Can I participate, even though I'm new here? If so, I'd be interested in a co-op with Proplants. I've been watching her auctions for awhile now, she has really nice varieties, and seems like a good seller. The price she's offering is great.

I would love to be in also.
Great, anytime!
I don't need in the coop, because I've already ordered so many from her, but I can guarantee her plants and service are great.
Anytime is fine with me too.
Nik
oh! oh! count me in also!

Alice, Official!!! Great!!!! I want to start ASAP. Couple of months ago I ordered four exotics from out west. UPS left them on the truck for 5 days in 90F because they got them on the wrong truck on a Thursday morning. They were shipped 3 day air to avoid just that from happening. Needless to say they were fried. Only one made it (still struggling though). They were 20" plants ($25-$30 each) with many buds and open flowers and dropped all as soon as I opened them up. I'm still crying and mourning and just can't "get around to" throwing the dead ones into the compost; still hoping I'm wrong I guess. Grower is going to replace but I was so looking forward to those beautiful "blue" booms for the winter. BTW.. nice name you have. Alice from Dallas
