Common Goldenrod (Solidago nemoralis)
Very nice, Stacey. I see you made it to the KY roundup and back!
We had some nice goldenrod here but it is now so dry even the weeds look awful.
Hope Jeanne did not mess up your yard much.
Watching Jeanne bear down on Florida via TV wasn't much fun, My son was house and animal sitting and all went well. No power for 2 days. The storm also delayed us getting home, it was so difficult spending that extra day in KY...Not! LOL We have a leaning palm, blown over plants and lots of debris but that's it.
How was your vacation? Did you get to PC? Most of all...did you finally get your seeds??
Yes I am happy to report that I got the seeds, and finally got some seedstarting mix (had to go out of town for that). Will probably start them tomorrow, along with a few other seeds you sent and several I collected elsewhere this year.
We had to cancel the trip. They are just now hoping to get electricity down there! They won't even allow a lot of the owners to move back due to sanitation and safety concerns. Fortunately my niece in Navarre was spared any major damage to her new home. It is really depressing to miss out on a vacation like that but I guess I needed to be here anyway. I have watered constantly just to keep my favorite plants alive. And now we have an early frost/freeze warning for Saturday so I had to wash, spray, sort, etc all my 100+ houseplants and cram them into the greenhouse and house. (They did not all fit, of course...lots of them will go byebye.)
I thought about you all over there in KY...with the help of a crystal ball I could have planned on that instead of PC. I will keep my eye on it for next year. Hope the hurricane season is over for this year!
I figured your trip might not happen and was hoping you'd end up in KY. There will definitely be a KYRU next year and I hope you plan on it!! I think it will be the first weekend in October next year
Glad your niece is okay, the destruction up there is incredible. We have 8 more weeks of hurricane season and one of the forecasters on the Weather Channel mentioned that October is predicted to be the most active month this year! This is usually time the season starts to taper off. All I can say is I hope he's wrong...
Glad you finally got the wayward seeds but frost already? Yuck...we only get 'air frosts' a couple of nights a winter. I can't imagine getting *that* cold although sometimes in the heat of mid summer I dream of cooler weather...
but I assume that's just heat stroke! :)
And I dream of *not* having any frosts ( I assume that's just frostbite:)
LOL
