I'm DONE...wooooohooooooo!!! But.......can't walk in my house...lol!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Haven't even started, everything is blooming! Most brugs are in the ground and will have to be dug and potted. Hibiscus and Passion Flowers are in pots, so no problem with them. Don't want winter anyway, if you don't mind.

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

i have a few cannas and a poinsetta to dig yet

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Mine were brought in three days ago........I don't envy you your task Don!! ;)

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Well I'm off the next 5 days, and have already started 2 weekends ago, about a third of the way done, leaving my water and bog plants for the last thing.
I really cut the plants back hard, spray them good, even put a little diazon on top of the soil and drench them good, hate fighting them bugs during winter,I even remove about half the leaves on some plants, for they will turn brown and fall anyway.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

What do you use to fight aphids?

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Yikes! Forgot, I have to dig all those canna & dahlia tubers, but they are still blooming, beautiful! No way.....

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Right now I'm using neem oil,but in the past I've had good luck with Ortho insecticide products,I also use the dishwashing soap, give them a good dowsing for a few minutes then rinse it off works wonders on a regular bases.
Hibiscus, they'll be fine, plenty of time before the ground freezes.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

I sure hope you are right Don! Waited all summer for this show of everything blooming.

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Ground is just to warm now,but when that cold front hits Saturday!!!LOL!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

MD &, VA(Zone 7b)

I've spent 2 days digging, potting, lugging into the greenhouse. Shouldn't get any frost for at least a month or so. Hate to do it already, but it will have to be done by the end of the month anyway and I have to do it when I have the time. Cold front coming here this weekend too, but not too bad, only supposed to be around 49* here at the house. We are right on the bay so it will stay a few degrees warmer than other places.

Will spend the rest of today digging, potting/repotting, lugging.... and probably several more days when I can get out there. Sure hate to see the season end. There are still lots of things blooming out there and finally have buds on my plumie for the first time!!! I'll leave anything blooming for last...

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Now there saying 37* tonite,So I started bringing some more inside, but haven/t got them all dug up,hope they make it!

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

Yall are going to think i'm crazy, being from Arkansas, But I've been working on getting things into the greenhouse for a few days now too, we're suppose to have 45 one night this weekend, I've got quite a few things that don't like it that cold, If it weren't dark, i'd get a picture of the inside of the greenhouse , maybe tomorrow. it's crammed already, and I am about 2/3 done, I don't know if i"ll have room to put veggies in there for this winter, which is one of the reason's we built the greenhouse , so we can have fresh veggies this winter. I'll never learn.

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

You've already have that big greenhouse crammed already!!LOL!

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

yep, you should see it, I'm in big trouble, going to take a pic right now, so you all can think i'm crazy too

now, there's a few things in there that are perennial, but not much, in the center, down on the floor is a couple rows of potted up mints, about l8 diff kinds, that are going outside this winter to give me more room, i went crazy propigating mints when I got the greenhouse finished.

the stove for the greenhouse isn't in the center like we planned, it's in a room on it's own and we're blowing in the heat with a blower fan.

And another thing, I didn't poison anything when I brought it in, hoping I didn't make a mistake, I have frogs, grasshoppers, hummers, dragonflies all in the greenhouse, cause right now all the doors and windows are being left open during the day.

kathy

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I see tons of space!
If you can see the floor,
There is room for more!

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

kathy_ann....tell me about your greenhouse? I am still waffling about one...and would like to know more about yours? Such as...size...what its made out of...etc. Thanks....Marcia

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

Root, your right, I have tons of floor space left, i'm not finished yet LOl. my greenhouse, hum, 2x6 cedar on the sides, ends are treated 2x4, couldn't get any more 2x6. rafters are treated 2x6 also, plastic came from the internet, , the whole thing is sitting on railroad ties that I bought from the grape farm down the road for 5.50 ea. I wanted it up off the ground so it wouldn't rot . wood stove is off in it's own room, we ill be fanning in the heat, I'll have a big barrel of water in the greenhouse somehwere to add moisture to the air. tables mostly are out of the 2x6 oak or cedar left overs, we used webbing tape off the internet, to hold the plastic down. on the sides and roof. dh made the doors and windows, costs about 800.00 to l000.00 not quite sure, didn't really keep up with the price. But all I know is I've died and gone to heaven. LOL oh yeah, we decided not to put in a floor. and the well, is in the addition where the stove is, so it's going to be heated as well, and i'll have a water hose at my disposal all winter. we hung lights on one side, but are fixing to put some in the middle too.
