Two different seedlings, same cross

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Seedlings out of the same cross may differ from each other, even though, the parents are very homogenous.
Seedling #1 is smaller than 3ft, it has two stems and one of the stems has a Y with buds.

Great foliage.

This is the second seedling, growing already out of the roof window of the Greenhouse. Several seedlings out of this cross had Ys at a early stage.

Ooh, have to agree, the foliage on the plant in the first photo is exceptional!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

That is so interesting Moonika. I know I have tons of seedling, that have Yed and have lots of buds that are just 3 or 4 ft tall this year in the ground. Yet some of their sibs are in pots in a different location and they are 8 ft and finally Yed!

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Kell, I also have sibling seedlings (all in the ground) that don't resemble one another at all...

Monika, the foliage on the first brug is really interesting looking!

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Love that foilage Monika on that first one. That is awesome!! Alot of mine are really short this year also, I don't think I have one seedling over 4' ft. this year. I had one seedling bloom at 2ft.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

I really like those smaller leaves. It is interesting to see differences in pod seedlings.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Wow! How interesting! I cant wait to see the blooms Monika!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

It's hard to believe the differences in some siblings. Monika, Hope it soon blooms for you.

Quite amazing isn't it to see the difference in plants from the same seeds. It's so exciting. I just love the foliage on #1. Very cool.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

I too think the foliage is very interesting, looks like Whiskers' foliage. Anxious to see the blooms.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I was looking at my creamsickle seedlings today and I noticed that everyone of them is double trunked except one .
And that 1 is the only one that has Y'd.Does the double trunk hold them back?
Should I have cut off one of them when they were small?

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Awesome looking foliage! Can't wait to see this one in bloom!!

... there are backsides and advantages to it, CC. The extra stems should make a nice tree-cutting by now and in case it has beautiful flowers, you have already two trees :)
