Confederate Rose

I got this from Yardbird in April. It's about 8 feet tall! Thank you Ruth, it's so beautiful!

I hope mine will have time to bloom before frost. It is budded. Very pretty bloom. Has anyone taken cuttings of this one? Maybe if I could do that I'd have time for more bloom next year.

So soft and pretty. Mine was growing so good and it just croaked all of a sudden. I don't know what happened to it.

Well, my trainer, that would be yardbird :-), has told me how to do cuttings of this. Keep your fingers crossed!

Vic, share if you can. I'd love to get some going too.

They are not far enough along for me to figure out seeds yet. This is my first year to have one. Ruth gave me two in April that she had rooted and they were probably 2 or 3 feet tall. They are now about 6 to 8 feet tall. I plan to take numerous cuttings and root them. I would ask any of you that wants some to stay in touch with me. I'm getting really ditzy in my old age and will forget who requested what. Just email me every couple months and I will tell you how they are doing. I am always very happy and more than honored to share my garden with any of you. After all, if someone (Ruth) hadn't shared with me, I wouldn't have this beautiful plant.

Vic, I mean can you share how to take the cuttings. LOL! I have the plant, just don't know how to start babies.

Oh sheesh, did I mention I'm an idiot too! LOL...Ruth told me she just takes about 12 inch cuttings and leaves them in water. If that's not enough info and she's not reading this and doesn't comment, email her. She has done wonderful things with these guys. Good Luck....Your friend....bimbo :-)

Thanks a bunch. I probably would have stuck them in dirt and got no place. I'm going to give it a shot tomorrow. Thanks again.
