up for adoption in warm climate

Seymour, IN(Zone 5b)

Is any one interested in adopting my Gerbera daisies ? They won't winter over and I hate to see them die, they have been so pretty. Any one interested in a trade for a begonia I can have indoors this winter? Lou

Wonder if I can keep them over in the GH???

I would think so, they bloom much better here in the fall and spring when we have cool nights ( 40's)and daytime temps in the 60's. LMK. Lou

I'm willing to trade if you want to try them in theGH. I looked it up in the data base and it seems others have had success with doing this. (One had trouble with whiteflies in the greenhouse, so be prepared with some spray.)E-mail me and I will give you my addy and you can give me yours. I won't get them in the mail until Monday. Thanks, Lou

That is a lovely Begonia and it looks familiar to me, but I can't remember it's name. I just sent the description to a friend who is a begonia addict, she can probably id it you you. Will let you know when I hear back from her.

crestedchick,

Your begonia is called "Black Velvet" I have it. I also have the "Green Velvet" which is a forest green shade.

Daisy, thanks for giving the name of this plant. I just heard back from my friend and she couldn't view the picture I sent.
