Fayette, MO(Zone 6a)

We seemed to move quickly from late summer to autumn today. A cool front came through. Yesterday I was wearing shorts and sandals. Today, jeans, flannel shirt and the wool socks feel good in the gum boots.

I need to work on fence. I have a lifting restriction since my surgery , sooo I bought some of those stomp in the ground electric fence "posts" . I am not putting them where I expect them to stay forever. But the old perimeter fence won't keep the cows outta the corn, so I am going with this plan. Will probably need some help putting the ground wire in. The wind feels good in my face this morning.

I have already made two trips to my Brother's house this morning. A pet lamb down and breathing hard. He got up for me, but I could tell he was having some major problems. I had brought over some antibiotics earlier, but ran home again for the Ivomec. Thinking that it could be worms. This is one fat lamb. He didn't seem to be gray around his gums, like he was wormy, but a good worming can't hurt. Since I can't lift , my frail looking Sister in Law and Nephew had to hold him, my Brother is at work. I wanted to show them how to turn them up on their rump so they can't fight. I always just pick their two sheep up and take them for shearing , so they haven't seen that done I don't think. I came home with a homemade pumpkin pie. So life is good and I know what I'm having for lunch.

The weather makes me hungry for something warm for supper so going to put a chicken on for supper.

We are planning a Mo. Roundup next Spring so would love to see all you all there. Check out the Roundup forum if you have a chance.

Anyone attending the 12th Annual Small Farm Trade Show and Conference in Columbia Missouri ? It's November 4-6. If so let me know.
