Tacca Bat Flower

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

Okay, one more try. I really, really, want a black bat flower. Tomorrow is my B-day and it sure would be nice if someone out there wants to surprise me with one. Hint hint. I keep on trying but somehow or other communication breaks down and I still don't have one.
I will even trade one of my prized E's for one.

Jan,
What is a prized E? I do have one black tacca plant, 4" pot in need of repotting. Let me know what you would have available for trade. I love cacti, hoyas, and philodendrons.

I have some black Elephant Ears and I have lots of different cacti, Hoyas, and succulents. Which do you prefer and also has your Black bat flower ever bloomed?
Thanks

Jan, I am not interested in the elephant ears. No, the bat flower has never bloomed. I received it in a trade from a lady in TX last fall.

I would like more information on your cacti and hoyas (sizes, species). Please email me with more details. Shirley

Jan,
I applaud your effort and hope you eventually do get a bat plant. In the meantime, the tacca is no longer available. It is going to someone in Oregon who has also wanted it for a long time. Shirley

Jan,

I just don't understand it, my memory is going, going.......... I have been waiting for things to settle down here so I could get back to you on this.

I gave one bat plant away at the KY RU this past weekend. I have just a few more left and you are welcome to 2 or 3 if you like. I have managed to continue to slowly kill them since my move and I think they deserve a better chance. It's difficult for me to find the right place for them in the yard. At my other house it took me 4 months to find the right place, then I had to move.

So, let's see now, on your list....I like Ox Tongue, kalanchoe and black elephant ears.

As to your question about blooming, I had many of the first 300 that bloomed before they ever even got any real leaves on them, but can't tell you if any of the existing ones did. They have been in pots now since I got them in April from the coop.
