Passiflora Pics!

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

I was hoping this thread would take off. I never get tired of looking at passionflowers, they amaze me every time I look at them. So if you have any pics that you're proud of, post them here please!

I know I already posted two of my pics on another thread and I also posted a third but I don't think it's possible to change the title.

They are all nice.
I started the year out with about 11 or more and lost them all except for two.
one is the may pop it is the strongest one and the other one never bloomed so I don't know its name yet it has a 5 lobed leaf but it never put out a flower.
I just hope the root system is strong enough to last the winter.
I also hope it puts out a flower this coming year

I have Vitifolia, Lady Margaret, Indigo Dreams and Incense. Very few blooms as we had very little sun and not warm. I found the biggest problem with losing them was from spidermites, outside and inside in the winter. Can see webs right in center, in winter.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

those are all lovely - I especially like the red ones. how easy are they to grow?

Citrus Heights, CA(Zone 9b)

In your zone the Vitifolia is easy. If the tempature doesn't get above 95f, the Coral Seas also.

Here's my addition to the pictures. P. alata 'Ruby Glow' triplets:-)

I HATE spidermites, they get on everything and always appear no matter how much I spray.

I love the blues, are they really black in the center like it looks?

'Ruby Glow' is so intense looking. What size pot are they growing in?

Absolutely gorgeous pictures!

Can't wait for my P. Caerula to bloom next year. What do you do during the wintertime CaptMicha? Do you have a greenhouse or take them indoors/

Brugie, I didnt realise you had such an extensive passiflora collection...how do you find time from the brugmansias???? Yours are lovely....I know I ought to make Iowa one of my stops when i come to the US if for nothing else to raid your gardens.....
I've enjoyed seeing all the photos...
thanks

Shirley: I over winter them in my sunroom, they have to compete with a bunch of other plants for the sunniest spot. They'll probably lose a bunch of leaves and look pretty bad but should pick up next year when they go back out. I'll probably cut them back too in the spring to get rid of the dead branches so they'll be fuller, greener and healthier.

Monterey: Why can't you have incense??

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

WOW!!!
All the pictures are beautiful
I need to ID all mine....
most are sitting unlabeled......
Your pictures are going to help

also I now know some that have got to go on my wish list
If I ever get around to organizing a list...LOL

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Pebble, I would love to have you stop by and raid my gardens. Anytime from June through mid September you can take cuttings of anything you need.

Are you guys feeding yours? These are all first year plant except for my foetida. I forgot to use bud and bloom this year but I think I'll do it next year along with a little SUPERthrive. Can't wait!

Citrus Heights, CA(Zone 9b)

I use both alternating week to week. I have them in containers so they lose nutrients faster, but in the ground half-strength same schedule. That's Miracle-gro Bloom and reg plant food.15-30-15 and 10-52-10 it's all the same most brands use the same ratios. Bloom has the 52 of course.

Brooklyn, NY(Zone 7b)

Here's a few of mine blooming...
the first is clear sky.. I have ripe fruit from it now.. the fruit is like cardboard.. but there are numerous seeds inside.. anyone looking for seeds for a trade of this one...

Brugie darlin.....if you were on a stopover point it might be possible, but egads girl...youre in the middle of the country... But you never know......stranger things have happend!

My passifloras have done well here, one variety bloomed and bloomed, but the easier one, the careaulean (something like that) that flowered to beat the band at home, hasnt had one flower on it....could they have been sterile? that's the only thing I can think of, cause a friend here has the same type and hers is flowering to beat the band.....
I'm going to look again at the pics and see if I can identify mine....
