Sunday early evening ... Y E L L O W !

Can hardly wait for some better light tomorrow.

The wood stake is a 8 footer that I lashed to the origional 4 ft post. Didn't want to lose another one to the wind ,so I strapped 'er down.

* That old song "Tall Paul" has been running thru my head lately... wonder why ? * LOL

looks like a great yellow! And so tall! The makings of a great alley tree!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Nice Yellow. If it were mine, I'd be hoping it stays just like these pictures. Are you going to shorten it up some? LOL!

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

how lovely, and that is quite a stake you have against it, don't blame you for protecting her

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Congratulations Scoot! i also have CG x B growing and is beginning to bud in my yard. the seed came from and hybrid of Kell. mine was planted 7/'03. mine is not as tall as urs, it is merely 3' tall. i am excited to see the bloom on mine. will post photo when they bloom.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Congratulation scooterbug! She is very pretty!

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Brugie , hahaha! Now how did you put it ? sumpin' like Whack her off at the knees ?

Have you rooted one this tall before? I'm afraid it will start dying back from the top down.

I would love to air layer it but there is not enough time left. I did air layer the one that was snapped in half .... we'll see .

I have 2 more from this batch ready to bloom . Think I need to go to the number system , eh?

She seems to be darkening and there was a distinctive wonderful new fragrance in the morning air. Sure wish I could stick my nose in it.

Thank you Monika, MaVie, kell, kareoke and Brugie.

Luv ya all

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

hey Scoot, i took some lower branches from what i have growing. they rooted nicely like i told u in the email i sent u. it hardly took time to root. am anxious to see the bloom on what i have growing on this end. i wonder what color mine would be... we have different growing region, soil are different, so is the climate. i guess now is the best time to start cuttings and rooting them.

thanks for posting this lovely bloom, at least i got an idea of how the bloom look.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

NO SIDE BRANCHES ............ shoot !

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

take one of the branches off the top, u have several there, if u can. if not, get some from any brug u got with a side branch, that grow low... any branch will work. good luck!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Its a beautiful bloom Scoot!! Congratulations!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Beautiful bloom, Scoot.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Lookin' good Scoot. Don't you hate to think about dragging all of this stuff into the house/garage/basement again. I envy all of you who have greenhouses to put it in.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

A tall GH that is!
Great looking Yellow Scoot, for sure needs to be looked at another year!! Good luck,I hope she roots easy for you.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Scoot, that's a beauty. I'm going to try some 5-6 ft cuttings in water this year. Hope they make it.

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Love that deep yellow color! "Tuffy"???

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

This is a CG x BF seedling #2

You can find "Tuffy" here http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/454959/

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

I like it and I hope it does well for you. Nice color and flower form in this one and its sister and they both look like good, strong plants. I don't see any bug damage - do you have to spay much or are these naturally insect resistant?

Mukwonago, WI(Zone 5a)

It's a Keeper, Scoot. I Love everything about it.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

No bug spraying here . (Thank Goddess)

........................I did spray some in my new shade garden earlier this year , until I found that I had to remove all the mulch because
+ thick mulch
+ cool damp shady garden
= bug Heaven !

I do practice my own way of gardening , but others do pracice the same method .
This could be a whole new tread in itself.

#2's sibling

CGxBF #3

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

also # 3

I think I'll keep all 3 over winter . This one is 3 days old and trying to color but it is so darn cold now.

#2 showed CG influence with the color.
I see more of BF's influence in #3, shape ,great tendrils and pinky hued (yesterday it was yellowy)

Pretty blooms, Scooter.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

How many are you keeping over this winter Scoot? I don't know what to do with what I want to keep and still have room to start more seeds. What this addiction to brugs has done to me isn't pretty.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Oh, Scoot, I would keep them too. Very pretty, I love the foliage and the bloom.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

sorry double post

Beats me Brugie! I just keep filling pots and jars of cuttings.

We'll find out when I start moving them into the house/basement /closets.

I've decided it's best for me to put off starting seeds until the winter solstice. They grow better and surpass the early sown seeds that struggled through the dark months. Artificial light program just doesn't hack it .

AND ANYWAY .......................

I don't think this addiction is changing our way of life AT ALL ! !

I really like all 3 of your seedlings Scoot. The shapes are just great. I found I got to many whites when I used CG, but yours make me re-evaluate that decision to stop using CG. They sure are the kind of shape I like.
