Would you share your favorite recipe for cookie frosting? I'm looking for one that's spreadable or paintable, doesn't matter. I can do either. What does matter is that it will set up and not smear or smush.
I bought the coolest cookie cutter set in fall leaves and acorns and I baked up a double batch tonight. Yeah... in the middle of the night... but hey! I'm bored! Uptown Saturday night ya know. All dressed up and no place to go.
I want to decorate them tomorrow, but the only recipe I have is for frosting that's made out of cream, powdered sugar, butter, and vanilla. It doesn't set up very well, and it's the reason I don't make Christmas cutout cookies either. I'd love to find a frosting recipe that will set up on the cookies and doesn't become a mess when they are stacked or put in a cookie jar.
