Possibly either Everlasting or Eventide as the mom. This one Y'd at 29 inches, the blooms are a total of 9 inches long, and 4 inches wide. This is the 1st night open, I dont know if she will get darker or not. My 1st bloom I tore to shreds, so I didnt get a good look. Smells like red licorice. I dont have a FP or look-a-like, so I dont know what they look like except for in pictures, looks close to me. The size is what I love about it. I planted the seed in Dec or Jan, and this one needed so much less water than the other brugs I have. I never saw any wilt on the leaves at all.I will try to do right by Susie and all that wanted a "patio brug". LOL at least for 1 more year. No need for anymore Frosty look-a-likes out in circulation, but she is my 1st to bloom from seed so I will hang on to her.
One of Susie's babies
She looks so cute Shelly! And the color is good also. Another mini.
Sure looks like a lot of pollen in there! That is a good trait.I like it!
Great job! I really like the smaller ones. I have a seedling in my yard that is a good 15 feet and it's the second year it has set buds REALLY late. So late I've yet to see it bloom. If it was a little mini I'd winter it over. But a 15 foot monster is not coming in the garage.

Shelly... first plant to bloom from seeds are always special.. even if they are lookalikes... I still have my first one.. didn't share it with anyone because it wasn't exceptional... but it was my first grown from seed...
Yours is a pretty little pink.. hope you do get a nice patio plant from it.
I still have mine too MzMunchen and I won't be without it.
I can say my first is here, for a little while,it is getting dug today, and going home with vs71099.
Very pretty
Datdog
Cut the seedling off at the hight you want it
In other words if you want a tree thats 6 foot tall measure from the top down(or look at it from the top down and guess where the best height would be) and add about a foot on the bottom for rooting. So in otherwords from the top down measure 7 foot.
Saw it off, take the top you cut off, including the y with buds and put in a bucket to root or put it in a pot with soil and let it root
Put a clear plastic bag over the top(you may have to remove some leaves) and put it in the shade to root.... do what you want with the stump sticking out of the ground, cut it up and root the peices or pot it up......
It's a cutie Shelly and sounds like a good bloomer. Heck - any that bloom well for me are keepers. They can't all be double pinks ;o)
I like it Shelly! I say keep it!
I like it also. What does RED licorice smell like?
Thank you for the coments! Its so special to me to know others have also kept their 1st ones. Yes lots and lots of pollen. I also sure hope she makes a good mom, and proves herself worthy. 18 feet?? My word! Thats amazing!!! I cant explain red licorice... lol easiest I can say is to get a bag of the old shoe string licorice, and smell it. The brug smell has a little spice in with it, but much like red licorice to me.
Here she is today with more color, I brought her outside so I could get a good picture.
Im looking at my new color chart :o) (love it!!) and Im seeing the pink right close to 240,92,126.
Nice pic, with blue sky as backdrop.
She is lovely.
crestedchik, I started a tree not so long ago, and now I MUST stake it correctly. I have four foot rebar, which was all I could find, unless 10 foot rebar - will that do for a 7+ foot tree????
Shelly, that's a pretty flower. I finally have a seedling blooming this summer, it's from an unknown cross. I think it may be an Eventide seed that grew after I tossed them on the ground. Figures the ones i didn't take care of would bloom first, lol.
Nice shot Shelly. I love those that show up with the sky as the background.
Thanks! LOL Susie, Im tellin ya, these little things are tough!
I have another one of your about to open, all the flowers (even the buds that dropped) have 6 tendrils. Is there a bloom that always has 6 tendrils? Looks pretty wavy on the corolla so far. And as Monika would say, if I dont have tomatos in my eyes, she is looking pink.
All the more cool Shelly!
