care for winter of newest cuttings not rooted..

Pickens, SC(Zone 7a)

I might have a "tiny" bit of space inside for a few small things but not much. I dont want to kill the cuttings that a few nice people have offered.

? cuttings leave in water all winter (dark cool)
? if you potted them before rooting you couldnt let the soil dry out they would die
? remove all but a couple of leaves from the potted brugs going into the dormant room.

Charlotte, I potted all my cuttings after they rooted in water a little last year (first effort) and they did OK except my pots were a little small and the ones in clay pots dried out and died. They didn't do much and looked a little rough but I got great plants out of them for this year.
The room I first put them in was a bit chilly and some rotted, but after I moved them to their permanent winter quarters, they did OK, except the ones I mentioned above that dried out.
Now, having said that, one of our biggest and first bruggie growers here in the mtns. keep hers in water all winter. She just changed the water weekly.
