And what a weekend it's gonna be. Autumn...heck no, more like Indian Summer, my friends! The mercury is supposed to climb to 26C for the next 4 days. Now that may have been cool in July and August, but it's sure gonna feel good at the end of September. My flowers must have known it was coming, cause they never quit blooming and new buds are forming all the time. Have a good weekend everyone! :D
It's the Weekend, Yee Haw!
Thanks Donna; it sure sounds lovely out there. Toronto's very warm today (29C), but tomorrow its going to get cooler and stay that way. I don't care though because I prefer the cooler weather-I can do more outside without gasping for breath!! Toronto's hot weather comes with ghastly humidity mixed with smog!! Enjoy your weekend!!
We are finally having lovely normal temperatures.....warm days and cool nights. Yesterday I lifted and packaged 14 water lilies as well as all my goldfish (except the ones that have a frozen fishicle death wish). How nice it is to work in the ponds and still be able to have fingers that function.
Indian summers are a such a treasure.......let's hope it lasts for a nice long while!
Hey Lilipon, I lifted all (all...I have a lowly 4) water lilies on Wednesday too. They are now residing in my crisper drawers in my downstairs (beer) fridge. Thanks again for that tip. Gave my goldfish away to a neighbor ponder and I am sure they thought they'd died and gone to heaven as my neighbor has a lovely big elaborate setup with waterfalls, tons of plants and many of variations of koi and other pretty goldfish. My fish looked very happy (if not apprehensive) as they swam away. My pond looks quite empty and forlorn right now, but come next spring, it's gonna be awesome!
BTW, what did you mean about those poor little fishies being "fishsicles"?
LOL.....Donna here my pond will freeze solid to the bottom as will any of it's remaining residents. :S Sounds like yours will have a great holiday....how many babies did you find???
Another gorgeous day here.....off to move more plants in and, like a lizard, soak up all those wonderful warm rays!! :D
I had four fishies, about 6-7 inches long, in my pond. I swear I heard one of them whispering as they swam away...."What is this place and why isn't the water green?"
Oh well, I hope all your poor fishies managed to be caught, I'd hate to think a couple are hiding and won't be found until...well...let's just hope you got them all.
Enjoy these last "dog days of summer folks". A good weekend to one and all.
