Hi, Imzadi--

Here is a link that might help your with your tulip bulb planting question. It gives some varieties to try with explicit planting instructions for the South.

For daffodils, I know White Flower Farms offers a 'Southern Mix' that is supposed to have success in the South. http://www.whiteflowerfarm.com/984301-product.html

Early in the summer they usually put the mixes on sale. FYI for next year.

We'll be interested to find out how your garden blooms next spring. Be sure to post some pictures. t.

Your tulips need to go in the fridge, not the freezer. Also, be sure you don't have any apples in your fridge, either. They emit a gas that destroys the tulips. I learned that the hard way (should have researched it first like you are).

I've seen some nurseries sell pre-chilled tulip bulbs. They are useful for forcing purposes as you don't need to fuss with the vernalization period. I read somewhere that gardeners in texas use them for outside as they are too warm as well. Might want to phone around to see if anyone offers the pre-chilled tulips in your area.
