Really Want Brugmansia sanguinea

Kingston, GA(Zone 7b)

Hello All--
I am hunting for a brugmansia sanguinea, red blooming, for myself and a friend. Would any one happen to have a couple of rooted starts or cuttings that they would trade me of this brug? If so, please let me know what plants you may be wanting and I will see what I may have to trade in exchange. I would appreciate any help on this. Thanks so much!

You might be able to buy cuttings or plants from Ebay, but my opinion is that you would be throwing away money for they do not like hot temps and probably would not bloom and may not even grow for you. I know a couple of people that have grown them in Wisconsin, but have only had a bloom or two and this was a cool year.

i bought 2 cuttings of this off of ebay......they are so way beyond dead its pitiful...i sure hope the seeds i bought do better.....if you decide to get them from ebay make sure they dont say semi-woody cuttings.......mine were 'dead wood' when i got them....lol....if my seeds do any good i will keep you in mind thats for sure.....good luck in your quest monica

Thank you Brugie and brommom for your advise and help. I had just found out about them needing cool temps but I still would love to try them. I think I could provide a good place for them. My friend does alot of gh gardening and he still would like to work with some too. Hopefully I can find some cuttings or at least find some seeds. Thanks again for replying to my post. :)

CountryBumkin,

Good Luck with them. They truly don't like our hot humidity. I grew them out from seed during the winter months twice. They did great getting up to 2 foot tall during the winter and spring months. Then in early summer the did a 360 for the worse. By early fall I had nothing but short stump. I just couldn't get them going here in Hot Humid Houston Zone 8A. I evern tried growing them inside in AC all day...that didn't work either.
