WOW! I just got back from my trip and was looking at anything I might have missed on the Brugs forum and saw this! You people are so sweet!
Thank you so much!
The trip was absolutely wonderful! The weather was awesome! (I for the FIRST TIME got to see blue sky in Seattle, lol! I don't go there often) and had so much fun! I got to meet Rikerbear at a pub, went to downtown and "shopped" at Pikes Street Market and walked on the waterfront. We stopped for a beer at a place on the waterfront called "Fishermans" - neat little spot, but the poor waitress was having a very very bad day! She took money from 3 of us at the same time, but didn't have access to the till. She finally got the manager out there to handle making change for her. Well..... Russ had given her a 100 dollar bill, and we'd only had one beer a piece. She came back with some weird change like $8.00. Of course, Russ wasn't going to let that much money slip away (nor would I) so he went up to talk to her. She started looking at all her tabs, and noticed ALL of them were screwed up. She looked like she was going to cry. Poor dear, I think she did, as she hid one time! It all got settled out, finally, and it wasn't even her fault. I hope another co-worker in there that the manager gave the money to change out wasn't screwing with her - she did have all of them separate. We RAN back to Pikes street so I could get these dried flowers I wanted so badly, and then booked it to the car, because our pre-paid parking was about to expire. I think we went over our 3 hours by 5 minutes, but it seemed to be ok, thank goodness. It's expensive to park down there. So used to Spokane.
After that we went to the Edmonds waterfront and walked around. Very nice.
I was spoiled with WONDERFUL food. In Olympia, we ate at "Ben Moore's" and it was unbelievably good. It was recommended to us. It isn't the most "fabulous" looking joint in the world, but the chef in there is 5 star as far as I'm concerned. Had Italian the next night and Prime Rib the next night. I was very content in the food over there.
The people in Olympia downtown kinda scared me though. I think there are alot of drugs in that town. I wouldn't walk alone in it, when Russ was in his meeting. The shops there didn't interest me anyways - weird hippie clothes and vintage hippie books, pipe shops & tattoo parlors............. not my style. So I didn't miss anything by hanging out in a pub for an hour while he met with them.
All in all, it was a WONDERFUL birthday, and I wish I could have crammed more into it while there! Next time I want to take a ferry over to one of the Islands, get more pics (I left the camera in the car when we went to downtown Seattle) and most likely get less sleep!
Thanks for the happy birthday! You are all wonderful people here!
