FALLING LEAVES

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Hi. I brought one of my brugs inside two nights ago (just one, thank goodness). Today all the leaves started falling on the floor. You barely even touch a leaf and it drops. It was placed near a "cold air return" in the living room. Could that have caused this? Has anyone had a falling leaves problem like this? Within two days?

Tis the season and you took it from one climate to another, so that is probably normal, but I would also check for mites.

I just got done spraying it - saw some webbing on it. Will spider mites cause the leaves to fall like that? The mites didn't do that to the others, that were outside in the wind. Must be the climatic change. Anyways, I should have sprayed it before bringing it into the house anyways, so I did. It has about a 3rd of the leaves it did yesterday, but at this point, doesn't look too charlie brown (it was very full before)

Hopefully I won't lose the rest tonight.

When a plant is growing outside in high light and you bring it inside, the leaves fall and new ones grow that will be adapted to low light conditions. It's normal. Mites could have added to the stress of changing light and caused them to fall too.

ok - that is good to know. It just happened so very very fast, we thought it was peculiar and that something could be wrong.
