Snowbank is blooming at last!

Plain City, OH(Zone 5b)

This brug has grown so slowly, I was about to give up on it. I guess it understood the little talk we had, because buds popped out soon afterwards!

Congratulations! Way to go!!

Very Nice Rosie. Mine isn't going to make it too blooming this year. In fact it has hardly grown at all this year. A bit of a disappointment.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Congrats. Wish mine would bloom.

rosiesplace. Your Snowbank blooms are looking great. I took cuttings from mine yesterday so that i will have some small ones next spring. I also picked a seed pod, a bee cross. I hope it was ripe enough, I had asked once before how to tell when seedpods are ripe, but didn't get an answer so just picked one, it had been hanging there about 3 months I think, there two or three more. My Snowbank are blooming too. I found out that if I keep them on the east side of the house, the varigation doesn't burn or fade. I am very happy with how they look. They're not very tall, tho, only about 3 feet, but nice looking plants. I suppose I should go out and take a pic or two.

congratulations, rosiesplace. how big was your snowbank when you first got it? mine was 1-2 ft tall and looked like it had been potbound in a gallon size pot so it had a lot of roots. i think it is because i had gotten such a well established plant that it has done well for me. i think the small ones are slower to take off. this year, the caterpillers really ate it up and didn't really touch anything else. it's almost back to normal now. in my mind, i'm imagining that the butterfly "saw" the variegated plant more clearly amid all the greenery and laid its eggs there. :)
