Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Hello farmers. Today is sunny and partly cloudy, tonight's low is forecast for 29 but I don't htink it will get quite that cold here, however, just in case it does I will cover the garden as well as possible. The forecast says 2 cold nights and then back to about 36 for a while which is typical. Most of the tomatoes haven't ripened yet, winter squash still needs some time and warm days, there is lots of corn that isn't quite ready. I could use a few more old bedspreads and blankets for the garden so will go to the Salvation Army store when I'm in town today and see what I can find. It has been a strange year, cool wet spring and an early cool wet fall. Of course our cool wet isn't anything like some of you get and no thanks, I wouldn't want to trade!

Right now we have a housefull and then some. A missionary family of 6 who minister in Romania is here for about a week, plus our son and his wife who are relocating to this area and living here temporarily, plus our friend who is just back from Africa between missionary trips. That makes 11 total with one bathroom, so at times we almost have to take a number and stand in line. The computer is busy too with lots of emails and other missionary and family business.

Hope all of you have a great day, remember to count your blessings.
