How would I ship Lily of the Valley?

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

I understand this is a good time of the year to dig up LOV, and since we just had monsoon rains (thank you, Ivan) the ground should be very easy to work. I'm afraid I'm just not sure how to tackle this. If I dig up the plant, wash it off, wrap it in a damp paper towel, then plastic wrap, then top with aluminum foil, will this work? And is it ok to leave the green fronds on, or should I cut them off, ar at least trim them back?

Any tips would be appreciated. It's for a trade and I want to ensure she receives her parcel in good condition.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

When I send mine I do exactly what you said but no tin foil
leave the leaves alone,once wrapped,
Roll them up in newpaper, like a cone ,and fold the ends
pack it in a box and use newpaper for more padding so they don't bounce all over
