Please vote for us today or Saturday

Trish and I need your votes in the TopTropicals.com plant Contest. My plants are in pretty bad shape from Ivan and just got a message from Trish and she has suffered the same fate with hers in Fl. They changed the voting from one vote per ISP to a rating of 1 to 5 for each contestant with 5 being the Best as in 5 star hotel lol. So if you have a minute we would appreciate your votes.
http://www.toptropicals.com/html/toptropicals/contest/2004/list.htm Mine is Donna's Wildlife Habitat # 108 and Trishs is A Passion in Progress # 103. Voting is today and Saturday. Thanks to you all

Donna, votes are in from here.I saw where Trish lost her plants, guess we are all in the same boat! My yard looked like a war zone when we returned home from Ga.We can all replace our plants, but not our friends. I am so thankful that all of you are safe. Melba

Thank you for posting this. I went and voted for both of you too. I am so very sorry for all that you have lost. As it is starting to cool down here and fall will surely sneak in, I'd be happy to look about the yard and see what plants I could share with you. The photos you both posted were glorious and the before and afters are remarkable!

I'm giving up gardening.. the joy just isn't there anymore after using a chainsaw for hours each day removing trees from smashed plants and hauling the trees to the road.. still lots to do... I'm too old to be doing this by myself but have no other option.. well. .yes I do.. I could leave it just as it is. I will garden from the comfort of my chair looking at pics on the internet and magazines.

Thanks for the votes... hope you win Donna.. you still have the passion

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

MzM...so sorry...don't forget though, tomorrow is another day. What a disappointment it must be to see your love and work ruined. God bless, Margie

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Trish one special thing about your secret garden was that it was natural.. God does things for a reason and I think that it will come back better than ever. I just hope debris above you don't block your little stream..(((HUGS)))

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Trish, it is very frustrating when you see all the hours of hard work that you have put in only to see it destroyed. Handling a chain saw is not an easy task . . especially if there is allot of cutting. You must be tired and weary and I hope next spring will brings you incentive as things start to blossom. I am so sorry that this has happened to you and I worry about you being so down in the dumps. A big hug from me to you!

Crestview, FL(Zone 7b)

thanks Shirley, Donna, Margie, and Frannie... I guess I am just plain wore out and should have not posted. Your words of encouragement will get my fat hiney back out there tomorrow and do some more work.. at this rate I might end up with a skinny hiney... *LOL* Today.. I'm taking a break... only enjoying TV and the silly lil' hummers fighting over the rights to the feeders.

Hugs!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You are just worn out Ms. Munché!! And I would be also. Things will look better in the morning. Come spring, you will feel the overwhelming urge to get back out and dig. Gardening keeps us young but also comforts us in our time of need.

We love you Ms. Munché!!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I would like to thank everyone for voting in this contest. I won first place thanks to you all. Trish was given a special prize since Hurricane Ivan kept her and many of her friends in Fl from being able to vote and she was a close 4th. She probably would have beaten me. I will share my prizes with her. She is my special friend and have already ordered somemore butterfly/hummer plants for us since we both had so much damage to them. I have just about given up trying to save them and am just taking cuttings and trying to root them. So much easier then trying to remove the plant without causing further root damage and then repotting it in the huge pots they are in. Also a lot less dirt lol. (((Hugs to you all)))

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Congratulations!!! I'm so happy for you :) And how lovely that you are sharing with Trish!!! And, good luck with your cuttings, Donna! It sounds like things are starting to get a little more "normal" for you... Gretchen
