Mine bloomed last summer and only had six blooms, it's still a baby. Isn't it the most wonderful scent? I wish they would make perfume from it. It reminds me of the beach, so clean. No one ever stays late enough to see them fully open though. thanks.

Hueysgirl, could I ask a huge favor? Could you post a picture of the plant and/or leaves? I believe I own one of these, but not sure. Mine is extremely small, 6" high, with no sign of a flower after a year. Dying to know what I have. Thank you!!!

Hueysgirl and I grew up watching our parents nuture this 'family heirloom'. It was an inheirtance from our grandmother. Hueysgirl had over 200 blooms last year! Fortunately she and I watched most of the blooms open while mosquitoes attacked us relentlessly.
This year 'Big Mamma" wintered well, has been repotted and staked with a beautiful trellis and we look forward to another banner year!
Look for the pictures soon!

Hi hueysgirl,
Those are some excellent blooms you have there, but they look to be blooms of Epiphyllum hookeri instead of Cereus fernambucensis.
Compare the flower with these photos here:

Hi Hueysgirl ,
I think that xenomorph is right - I have hookeri and these blooms definately look like they are from Epiphyllum hookeri rather than C. fernambucensis

You may want to have your photo moved to the correct PF to avoid confusion by clicking the 'I have a error to report' and asking to have your picture moved to E. hookeri.

Thanks!
Onalee
