I don't think I have anything "special" to trade for these lovely plants. I would however, love to have the Lady Margaret passiflora. Would you consider a trade of a personalized painted slate sign for you garden or home in exchange for Lady Margaret? Hope you get some really special plants in this trade. Lou

Could I interest you in cuttings that root easily in water of:

double impatiens: white; var plum and white;

cascading torenia: violet blue; velvety purple?

I don't know how easily Tithonia roots - I could share cuttings of that.

We have derived tremendous pleasure from Salvia 'Purple Majesty' - rooted cuttings make 6' canyons along a path to a gate, and hummingbirds are always whirring around in them. These cuttings I strike in market packs of ordinary potting medium under plastic tops. They root relatively easily and withstand assaults of white fly overwinter better than most (I only spray Safer's household insecticide when they come in, after the Solstice and early March.)

The thunbergias would really make my day if you would like to share any of those.

PS - I'll probably have tons of seed from the night-blooming gourd, Lagenaria sicceraria 'Cucuzzi Caravazzi' - At the 8" - 10 " stage they are supposed to be edible. Gumlla posted gourd recipes that look interesting. Ours have gotten 5' long in the yew hedge, but the ones hanging down from the magnolia seem to be heading for greater lengths. Our new neighbors have been nice about it, but when they start their garden next year, I plan not to send such a monster over to their side of the hedge again. An unusual plant, indeed.
