This is Rosenquartz,it is big and full of flowers...the last batch only lasted about a day each so this time better be longer or.....Off with its head. Not much fragrance but a pretty color.
Rosenquartz..stay or go..
I've been wondering how this one is. I have it but it hasn't bloomed yet. It's purdy enough... I hope it holds up better for you. Maybe it will do a little better here. I don't think we get as hot as you do.
I don't have this one. You are not the first I have heard complain about being let down by her though. She did not perform well for Susie either I think. Maybe she needs cooler weather to do well, hopefully this time you will know. I like the color, and the tendrils look pretty nice.
Tracey, I think it's a little overrated myself. took 2 years to bloom. ;-)
It's a pretty bloom. I hope it does better. I hate to see it beheaded.. LOL
I have one bloom on what I think is Rosenquartz. I think my squirrels played with the tags this spring. Looks just like this one. Nice plant though. You might be pleasantly surprised Kyle. I hope it does well for you.
I think it is a pretty one but if it does not do well for you, then that means it is only taking up space. I say behead her.......lol
Kyle, mine has taken two years to bloom too and it's not a large plant yet. Its blooms are nothing to brag about and they haven't lasted more than one or two days for me. Mine is loaded with blooms just opening today, I'm going to see how it does in the fall and if it doesn't do better it's gone here too.
Amen!! :-)
Kyle, are your flowers kind of small? I was expecting a bigger bloom that what mine have.
Pretty pic Kyle! Trouble with pinks now is that we have some really nice new ones. We can now afford to be pink snobs.
I want to grow up to be a pink snob too.
Kyle ,
No room for slackers ... IMHO
Chop-chop !
Acckkk, please no, ............I like it!
Cala they are normal sized for a candida. They were fragrant after dark..but not by much.........me thinks it may go Buhbye!! :-)
I'm thinking the same thing about mine Eclipse. I was thinking about putting a colocasia Black Magic in it's place.
Send it to North Carolina, Kyle.
Mine is about 7 feet tall and has had at least 3 full flushes of blooms this summer so far. Each flush having upwards of 50-60 blooms open at once. Fragrance is not much to speak of ,leaves are really nice and large on this one. As for the bloom it's not much different from several other pinks that i've grown so I guess it's just a matter of choosing which one you like the most.
I have no problem at all now pulling look alikes up and composting them without giving it a second thought.
Awww.........David, you are not doing that?
Think we are all rethinking which is good and which is best. It is a hard decision, but somebodys' got to make it!
Kyle,That is a good size bloom. What do you think the scent is close to?
I want to be a snob of any color,
I just love the flowers with the long tendrils
I think mine is going to go too. It just isn't impressive and not blooming until now is not a plus.
I LOVE it, it is perrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-fect!
I have nothing against the brug...it is the growing season here and no greenhouse. I have to grow brugs from cuttings that will bloom for me the next year, so when I see one that doesn't do it, I have to think about my priorities and in my case......blooms by the numbers comes out on top. LOL! If it isn't going to bloom until now from cuttings, it isn't worth the space it takes to grow it. Now watch....I'll go out there and it will have a flush of blooms that will make me eat my words.
Barb must have unlimited room! How many do you have Barb? I bet tons of great ones!
Kell, I grow over a hundred. Have been culling this year but adding more. I am in FL now with my daughter and had to leave my brugs-we had 30-40 mile winds from Ivan. My breeding stock-prized ones and new blooming hybrids were put in garage. My husband had to upright about 75 percent of the plants in pots after the storm. I also have a lot of plants in the ground and they were not damaged. Had a double white hybrid bloom before I left. Didn't get a chance to see if it changed color-Creamsickle x L'Amour.
Crmsickle x L sounds good Barb. PLMK how it turned out.
Barbara, your picture with the bloom and buds is gorgeous.
