Have Hosta Seeds

New York & Terrell, TX(Zone 8b)

My neighbor was going to throw away the pods, even though there were many (pods) with mature seeds. She just has enough plants she said, so I asked her for them. They are dried now and I would like to know if anyone wants some. Maybe trade?
I don't know one hosta from the other; they're all green to me. If you grow them you can find out which kind they are; then decide if you want to keep them; or trade them yourself.

Edited to say: 30 seeds, each packet.

Few weeks back I tried but seeds were not germinate. First I keep seeds freezer in a wet paper towel for seven days and then transfer to refrigerator and when these seeds sprouted sow in the soil. But invain. As I am living in zone 9b, may be this is the reason.

CaptMicha,

Will you please explain to me also; the sandwhich bag with dirt procedure?

zippy-lock bags or regular el-cheap-o sandwhich baggies?

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

Well I winter sowed most of my hosta but I don't know if it gets cold enough in Pakistan. Sigh.... warm weather year round...

Anyways, what I do is I fill a sandwhich bag (you know, the press and seal kind, not the feezer ones with a zipper but you can if you have a lot of seed) half way w/ half perlite half peat sterilized (I'm big on that) and moist not make sure it's not wet. Press your seed into the mixture, close the bag and leave in a fridge for 4 months at the least. You should start getting sprouts after it's been in warmth and light for a bit. Pretty easy huh?

I found a lot of seeds in my cannas... Wasn't certain if that was the way to go for next years planting? These are small black seed as big as a pea.... Glad to share with anyone if what I'm saving is good.
