This is my first year with the beautiful Brugs. I have 4 that have bloomed off and one, but never multiple blooms. I wonder what the problem can be? Next I need to know how to care for them once I bring them inside before frost. I'm in SW Va.
few blooms & winter care instructions
This is just my opinion, but I don't think they need a lot of care once inside. Just make sure the mites or other critters don't work on them, give them enough water to stay alive; they don't even need a lot of light. Before you take them back outside in the spring, trim off the weak growth and wait for blooms. I do give mine just a little fertilizer each month while inside the house. The ones I hold over in the garage, get no fertilizer from Oct. until April. They do just fine.
I wonder if they got enough sun shihtzumom. I find mine in more shade bloom sparsely! And did you fertilize regularly?
kell,
Yes, do fertilize regularly. They are in 80% sun. But this is their first year too. Would that make a difference? Do they like acid soil or something that I may not be providing?
