I have 28 differant Cannas and 8 differant Elephant Ears. Tomatoes---well thats a learning thing for me. I have been reading about tomatoes for a few years off and on. Every moment is spent looking for information now days. I plan to grow Greenhouse(hoophouse) Container Grown tomatoes this coming Spring to sale at the market for income. I can't live on tomatoes alone. Gotta have bread.

Hey from Alabama
Cricket
Welcome from Pakistan, You will enjoy and soon addictive like us. You post beautiful picture. Want to see the pictures of your tomato plants.
Here is some Better Bush--picture taken July. They are Semi-Determinate which means they grow taller than most bush determinates( 5-6 feet) and they produce tomatoes while they grow instead of all at once like determinates do but they do have a very large crop at the end of their life-span like determinates do. Very good taste. 3" fruits---5-8 ounce tomatoes.
This is the only tomato that I grew this year. We just moved here and its an old house that needed alot of work. I will be growing Big Beef, Early Goliath, and Better Bush come Spring.

cricket - hello from upstate new york
Hi Cricket. Welcome from Iowa. I grow tomatoes and other garden veggies, cannas, ears and other tropicals too. If I like it, I get it. I've had some failures, but it is always fun trying. Sure glad you are here. It is a great place to meet people, trade plants and seeds, and learn. Hope to see you around often.
Cricket - welcome to DG - you're where? in Alabama -watch out for Ivan's left overs. or direct hit - can't find you on a map.
There are lots of tomato growers in the market garden forums and Eweed post pics in his garden thread in Photos - Just loads of expertise and advice to be had. Have fun, stop for a cuppa and browse around. ~Blooms
My brother is in Pananma-------or--i hope he went somewhere else. He didnt call me to let me know where he was going. The BIG BUTT.
I live 5 miles north west of JASPER on off hwy 5. We should be on the west side of the storm as it comes up into Alabama and GA.

Did the storm come through your area?
What is that beautiful red blooming plant in front of our tomato plants in the picture?
the storm did come through here. Not too bad. I am one of the lucky. The trees are half naked--lost alot of leaves. Lots of branches in the yard. Plants torn from the wind. I still have power while many around me do not.
The red flowers in front of the tomato is "Touch me Nots". They have red blooms with white spots. And I have thousands and thousands of seeds.
