I want to start adding these to my landscape. Does anyone have some nice trades of Japanese Silver Grass and anything else hardy in my zone? Or would this be the wrong time of year to divide/transplant perennial grasses?
I have hostas and daylilies to trade, dollar for dollar value.
Thanks!
Sandy
Looking for Grasses hardy in zone 5
Hi Sandy,
No Silver Grass, but I do have these (available now) which have proven themselves well in our wacky zone 5 climate:
*Japanese Bloodgrass
*Zebra Grass (tall)
*blue-eyed grass (very short; precious blue blooms in spring)
*Very unusual brown grass (lost the name-bought at the local nursery)--about 16" tall brown to brass-colored (several different shades interspersed) switch-like grass.
Can send pics of all but the blue-eyed (bloom period is over). If interested, please email me with "grasses" in the subject line...and a list of possible trades. Won't be offended if nothing "trips your trigger," though;)

Zebra Grass in bloom:
Seedsower,
I have blue lyme grass.(Baby blue/gray color) It is very pretty, if it is in the sun it grows pretty fast but in the shade it grows slowly and is easy to control. Stays blue even through cold months, check database. Tolerates containers.
