Hi, my name is Gordon. I live in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and I am newly injured paraplegic and now a retiree that likes gardening and I think I have found a new hobby. Where do I start with trading???????????
new to trading
Hi welcome look over different forums . what are you interested in..?? what do you want to plant what have you ect..you will find a your way around quick, though i'm still trying to figure it all out..
Hi Gordon! Welcome to DG!
What I did when I started trading seed is go around my neighborhood and collect what seed I could from whatever... I listed what I had and what I wanted and was surprised how quickly I had a collection of neat stuff.
If you are fairly new to gardening, then you probably don't know yet just how generous "we" gardeners are (smile). You have but to ask and most will be happy to send you their extras for postage. You can email me and I'll send you my mailing address. If you'll send me 60 cents postage and your address, I'll fix you up with quite a few seeds from things I've grown myself.
Anxious to see what you like and are interested in.
Happy Gardening!

Hey Gordan. Welcome to Dave's Garden! You will enjoy all the wonderful and helpful gardeners here. Like Cajun2 said, let us know what types of seeds or plants you may be looking for and I know some of us will be glad to help you out with your gardens.
Welcome to Dave's Geeman,
Some of the terms are what had me going.. SASE, means that you send a Self Addressed & Stamped Envelope to get seeds that people are offering for SASE. The post office can really crush the seeds so we use those little yellow padded envelopes, or cover your seeds with bubble wrap. Also, if you do SASE for seeds, you can use the same bubble envelope to mail your label and stamps in, then the person on the other side can use the same envelope to mail it back to you by placing your preaddressed label on top of the one there and place the stamps over the old ones.
Also drying your seeds is important if you use those plastic baggies (because they will mold if you don't dry them for at least one week). The paper coin or just plain paper folded will do also to make seed packs.
Well, I am sure others can add tips here too.
You will enjoy gardening and its good to have you here. Antoinette (Gourd)
I have 2 types of hardy hibiscus seeds, I will send if you like. E-mail me your address and I will send you some. Carol
I'll send you a bunch of seed for sase. Email me if interested.
Hi Gordon!
Welcome, welcome!
If you click on the Home tab in the DG banner on this page, then choose 'Extras' (it's second from the left, but only on the HOME tab), then ab. #6 down you'll find 'Trading Primer'.
That's really where you should start... except looks like you have already started! But go there now and at least you will have the background where everyone is "coming from"; that is, the things everyone will assume you already know!
Also, number 5 down back on the 'Extras' menu is the Address Exchange -- you will probably want to put yours in, that way you can read the others that have put THEIRS in, and simplify your trades with them as has.
Finally, be sure to look over ALL of DG's forums -- don't think *I* think of your disability before anything else about you! -- but there *is* one devoted to gardeners with challenges (as if there were any other kind!), and since you say your injury is "fresh", you may pick up some handy hints ab. gardening with limited mobility etc etc -- in the Container Gardening forum, too.
And there are several other forums with tenuous relationship to hand-on gardening (Camera and Computer Talk, Decorating, Crafts, Jokes, Pets, Weather, et al). They are here because we find once we get to know one another, the conversations spill out of the garden!
Again, welcome! ~'spin!~
Hi, welcome to Dave's It is a fun place. Hope you find the seeds you need.

Welcome to Dave's Geeman,
Hello Gordon,
I would really love to have some raised beds and those would be helpful to you and also if you have some help hanging baskets are nice with tomatoes and flowers. Maybe even window planter boxes of some sort might be useful for you.
Nice having you along...enjoy!
I'm new here as a subsriber and I love every minute of it.
Edwiena
