Three Years Waiting... now, what do I have?

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

This is a variegated brug I got from someone here in DG about 3 years ago. It FINALLY has one bloom!!! Now, I'd like to know what it is. Any clues?

The bloom was 18" from stem to blossom end, and it is VERY fragrant. 3 Pictures in all.

I think it might be Maya

It looks like that, Thanks.

Here's a photo of the bloom forming:

My calyx and corolla tube were not nearly so long as yours Darius. But the color of the flower and leaves is very similar. Did you have stripes on your calyx?

This is just the beginning for you! Give it a few years of age and it will flush big! LOL

It doesnt look like Maya to me. It could be Peaches and Cream.

I have Peaches and Cream blooming,it looks like it to me,Maya blooms have more of an angle, and are not as long.

I agree with Root. It isn't Maya, but could be P&C. It is much slower, in my opinion, to grow and bloom.

Here's a couple more close-ups. I'm thinking I got it from Calalily.

I thank y'all for your comments. As you can tell, I am NOT a brug grower but I really like this one.

Oh my gosh, Kell. Is that Maya in your yard? Just stunning. My Maya (cutting from you last year) is only about 4'. It has just Yed, if I bring it to work and put it in a sunny window, do you think it will bloom inside? LindaSC

Kell, you haven't checked back in to this thread. Yes, mine had stripes on the calyx. But the calyx and corolla tube was much longer.

What does that say?

Darius, after looking at pictures for a while, I also think yours is probably Peaches and Cream and not Maya. Sorry, but I've had Maya on the brain... after seeing Kell's picture ealier this summer, I decided I just had to have it. I finally got a small plant in mid-July. It has grown very quickly and the leaves are about a foot long. A couple of days ago it started to form a small Y with little buds. So I'd say if yours took 3 yrs to bloom then it must not be Maya, she is fast!

Well, to my amazement, I had actually entered this Brug in my own database when Calalily gave me the cutting in 2002. It IS Peaches and Cream!

Thanks, Everyone!! I may not be a Brugaholic but I will keep this one.

Yes, P & C is much slower in growth. Maya is hard to contain!!

Linda, when I brought in my alley tree Maya last year it immediately dropped all its leaves. It looked so pathetic I moved it back out. I do not know if it would have gotten use to living inside or not. I feared it was dying.
