Wish I had someone behind my tiller here. Can't wait to see what you do with all that land.

How exciting! I love palm trees. Wishing you the best of luck.

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Oh Lisa, how exciting! Give us a few hints! What do you have planned? I know it will be beautiful! I also love palms......oh to have them here! LOL

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

hubby and his helper (the guy behind the tiller in first pic.)scraped off the sod for me and then Jesse hauled in some landscape soil conditioner. I will try to get some things planted today, if weather permits. I am going to put in a few nana trees, a few more plams and some of my full sun gingers. This corner of the yard gets full sun all the time. We moved here to this house 2 years ago, there was no landscape, it has been fun working on it. At my other house, everything I planted would get flooded out every year. This yard is a foot above sea level in some places, with a levee system and pumps to protect us from flooding.

Here are some of my plants close up.

WOW.. LISA..
Great space there... I was wondewring if there was alot of dry land there.. being surrounded by all of that water .. but it's quite dry there.. and being so high.. 1 ft above sea level... HA HA HA water should be just below the surface for the plants to enjoy... you need alot of things to fill up the space.. to go beside the grill and pond
What a nice John Deer... Sure would like to have one on the roof.. bet I could rig a hoist up on the auger and help lower the plants downstairs in the fall...
Continued good luck there... Gordon

:) thanks gordon, your post had me chuckling.

yeah, we are pretty high and dry here ..at least the part of the yard that is 1 foot above sea level! we'll not talk about the rear of the yard that is under sea level.

I think you should try that JD on your roof top, that would get your downstairs neighbor attention for sure. Heck, our neighbors think we are nuts with all these palm trees. I remind them that when the coastal erosion reaches our street, I will have Gulf front property with mature palm$...increasing my property value..lol.

Lisa, what kind of banana is that in your picture that has the red mid-rib? I have one and haven't a clue to what it is. I'd sure love to have that JD here on my three acres. I'd have everything dug up.

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

that is the lovely nana 'Maurelii'. Beautiful nana and it doesn't take over like most nanas do here (it doesn't make pups)

here is a better picture of it.
