Bananas producing fruit?

I want to get an ice cream banana but my question is, will I need two to pollinate? Annnnnd, how can I tell if I've purchased a male and a female? Will they fruit inside if planted in huge pots with adequate light and warm temps?

Bananas have male and female flowers on the same stalk. You only need one plant for fruit.
