This is Monika's from seed. It is a flava that stands up to summer heat.
Monika's Mobisu
Oh gosh, that is beautiful.
I agree with Shirley. She is beautiful. Does she has fragrance like the mother Mobisu?
I worried a little that the seedlings would be cream or pale yellow.
Wow beautiful.
I love it!! It is so beautiful ... as is Mobisu of Monika's!! Congrats Liz & Monika!!
Wow, I love the looks of this one.
That's a beauty. Liz, when you say "stands up to summer heat", just how much heat?
Monika can tell you better but she had it growing as one of her alley trees during that awful high heat in Europe last summer.
I would give just about anything to grow one of these, cream yellow white or whatever! The form really appeals to me. I think it is gorgeous!
Eileen
Thats the one I dream of!
Ihughes, x flava is a cross between B. sanguinea and B. aborea. Both species are not very heat tolerant. They originate out of cool climates. Especially B. sanguinea tends to drop the buds all summer, when the temperatures are too high for them. Many x flavas do the same.
Mobisu is different. She blooms continuesly even during hot summers. The flowers are bicolor, yellow and peach/pink. In hot summers, they will be only yellow.
So that one will do well on the prairies???
It should!
:D hehehahahoho......so nice to find one that will! ;)
Uh - Oh !
Gottahaveititis sets in again ..... Liz , I love this one , great color .

Very nice flower. It's so nice to see a brug that looks different. Lately they are alll looking alike to me.
"Gottahaveititis" - so that's what I've got!
So when would this sort of brug - (or seeds from a cross) be available in the USA?
LIZ! it's jsut one more beautiful brug after another one. I really like this one.
Its beautiful!!
Thanks Monika. I grew sanguinea from seeds and lost all but 1 last year. The 1 that survived was in my office in air conditioning. I took it home and it was in the gh over winter, in the shade in the yard for the spring and it was looking ok. One day it got HOT and it just melted. I was so upset, I should have taken it back to the AC at work.
I'm with eileen, I would love to try some seeds. Are they available? LindaSC
Linda, I didnt do any Mobisu crosses this year and have therefore no seeds available. I would try to pollinate if you are interested to raise Mobisu seeds.
Oh Monika, you are so kind. I know that a special permit is required to import seeds. I am just a 'hobby grower' and don't know how to get this permit or the costs involved. LindaSC
Wow wonder how this one would stand up to the "Texas Heat and Humidity"?
Sure is pretty, I love the shape of it and the color is just beautiful......
:o)
