Hi Capt Mich, have some on order I could share..am growing some right now from seed, but they are only seedlings, were a little difficult to sprout [germinate]..let me check again as some semi tropicals have to be planted immediately...so you will need fresh seed if that is the case...you probably already know that they need heat to germinate..they got plenty here...
marion.. ps...[ I have white sapote fruit tree which is almost ripe..BUT they have to be planted immediately..could send some seeds..the fruit is delicious] they take a little frost...

I'd love some seed if you can spare any! What kind of things are you looking for in exchange? I don't have my seed list at hand but I can see if I have what you request. I get new and varied seed all the time so my list is long and ever changing.

Hi Michelle, thanks for the kind offer...right now I am growing so many different seeds, it is all I can handle...as we live in a very hot dry climate, I have had to give up on growing my 'English Garden' flowers etc. [ clematis and bulbs]...still grow a lot of roses ....I have a white sapote tree almost ripe fruit..it is so delicious but if you wanted some seed would have to send it to you very quickly as they are viable for only a short time...the black sapote is on order so should be coming soon so I will be glad to share with you..only require the postage....marion

Which ever is most convienent for you if fine by me. I'm just glad to be finding these at all!

Do you know how to propagate black sapote from plant material? Do you think plain old cuttings would work? I bought a tree about 3 years ago and it never really did anything and the tips of the plant were turning black. I didn't realize the soil I had it in was really bad for it so I finally repotted it this fall and the roots were all black.

I cut off as much of the roots as I dared and didn't expect it to live but it did and actually put on more growth after I left it in full sun! Maybe next year I'll be able to prune off more of the black root to promote healthier ones.
