Pruning....

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

OK...Yes...this is a really really really REALLY elementary question: What is the best pruning method?

I kinda know how to prune for...how do you call it...a flat top growth... And I would like to know how to achieve the great BUSH look, with those wonderful bells filling the foliage. Where does one look to cut (basic pruning methods known)...when to cut? Am I asking the impossible?

TIA

Aloha, I can't answer your question but I sure would like to know how you are pruning for the flat top look? I think that is SO pretty with all the trumpets hanging down. Sandra

Brugaddict, thanks for the links! I, too, have Monika's book but haven't read that much about staking them yet. I bet I've read the rest of it a gazillion times -at least every morning while I'm in traffic. (yes I'm one of those women - lol). I find I have to read it over and over to "get it". NOW I'll read the "tree" chapters. Thanks! Sandra
