Ingrid I do that all the time. Not a big deal, we all knew what you meant, and it is easy to correct. Norma

Ah okay Ingrid, just wanted to make sure.
Already got this one but I'm sure I can provide you with some Hoya starter cuttings anyways :).

Dear Canadians -

Had a long "talk story" with the head of USDA in Honolulu about sending Plants to Canada. I told him of your AG.website, Milan,...and mentioned that no permit was required for Houseplants for hobby growers. Yes, he said that was correct...if DRIVEN over the border or if taken personally, say, as baggage. But if they (plants, cuttings etc.) are shipped...they are ipso facto considered commercial and need all the bells and whistles.

Personally, I would just DO IT...as long as you don't have huge boxes. I know someone who ships plumeria "logs" and IDs them as Plumeria Candles....

Perhaps trading could work....

hmm...I was thinking since it was a cutting, maybe it would work, but I certainly don't want to complicate things for anyone. And...... the more I've thought about it, I think that after all, you should just keep it and offer it to a fellow Canadian....seems that you folks 'up there' have more trouble obtaining plants than we do here in the US.

Thanks for considering, though...I appreciate that!

No roots no soil, and I think you will be okay, wrap it well in news paper, Or put in between the pages of a magazine. Keep the package very small under one lb. label it as a hobby exchange, or hobby supplies, which it actually is. Play dumb, after all how would you know the rules. The agrig. people don't even know the rules. Norma

I've sent hoyas to Canada and labelled them as plants in commercial potting soil. Didn't have any problems. She was a week receiving them but said all was well!
