HELP me convince DH that I NEED a Chi!

Seattle Burbs, WA(Zone 8b)

After loosing Buddy, I didn't think I could get another dog. Besides, Jake and Doc can be a handful. I met a woman shopping the other day that had a Chihuahua in her 'dogpurse'. The cutest cutest cutest, and he was a rescue. My neighbor has a Chi, the cutest cutest cutest!! Anytime I see one I stop to pet or drool at the TV. A Chihuahua is out there that needs ME!!! I have been looking at the Chihuahua rescue (via petfinders.org).

I love my terriers, but they are not cuddlers 24/7. You know what I mean; they like to cuddle when they want to not when you want to. LOL. I know I would be that lap for a Chihuahua in need, and not to mention, he/she will get to go just about everywhere with me!

We 'almost' had one about 6 months ago. A woman my husband works with had a mini that she had purchased for $1700. The puppy was not working out and she offered it to DH - for $1700. I absolutely thought I had died and gone to heaven when I saw his photos. Good thing I didn't see him in person. We could not swing the $1700. She sent the puppy back to the breeder. :(

DH is a softie around animals (especially dogs), but he is now holding firm against it.

He says no because,

1. The kennel fees are already too high when we go on trips (we have to take our dogs to a special kennel that accepts terriers) $16 per day. But I say, well, when we go camping and other road trips, I plan on taking him/her.

2. Jake and Doc won't accept it if it's older than they are. I say, possibly, but I am here 24/7 and I feel they would accept another dog in time. Jake was very upset when we brought Doc home. Now you can't separate them!

3. DH also thinks I'm suffering from temporary insanity. He thinks this will blow over soon and that I 'really' don't want another dog. Sigh!!!!

Help me convince my DH - think of a good argument for me! :-D :-D
