question about trade package size

Modi'in, Israel

I'm about to trade vine seeds for vine seeds for the first time. I'd like to make sure I'm sending enough seeds but not go overboard either. What is a reasonable number of seeds for a vine trade? Thanks in advace! :-)

What I do and the way I send seed depends on the amount of seeds I have to offer. If I only have a few seeds then I will only send maybe 5 seeds per person. There have been times with morning glories I have been lucky to get 2-3 seeds so as you see it depends on how many seeds you have and how many people respond to the offer..
What vine seeds are you going to offer?
Just send what you think is fair. :)

If you have ample seeds then send a good trade, but if your seeds are limited and you want to share then you have to be stingy..I know on occassion I have a limited amount of seeds for shareing and can only give out a few to each.
Sometimes another thing I look at especially if it is a seed that is hard to get ahold of is, who will trade back with me in case my crop fails. This is something you may want to keep in mind to, I would not be oppose to asking someone or there asking me, to agree to trade back at a later date if that was the case. That way you don't mind trading the few seeds you have if you feel you have a good chance of getting some back if yours don't make it.
Kinda like not putting all your eggs in one basket... I have done that before and lost the whole basket.....LOL

All of this feedback sounds right to me. About how I was approaching it intuitively. I wasn't sure what the response would be about the bow-tie seeds so that's why I asked before I sent any at all. Now I'm really glad I did because I've gotten a LOT of requests for them. I hate the thought of having to say 'no' to someone because I sent too many to someone else. I mean, I figure that with a perenniel vine, you only need one in your garden to get you started...and if you want more later, you can collect the seeds from your own vine and plant those. But obviously sending only 1 seed is a lot like playing Russian Roulette! LOL So I sent what I thought would be reasonable and still give a darned good shot of having at least one of them succeed for each person who receives them. Now if I were sending something like Cuphea llavea that I have a huge plant just SPILLING seeds all over the place...well, I'd likely send at least 20 to whoever was asking for them....same with my Ornigothalum saundersiae. Just depends on what seeds I have (how many people will be begging for them LOL) and how many I have to share. I'm really glad I asked here and got confirmation of how I was leaning in the first place :-)
