My DS Tree :)

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

Dr. Seuss sure knows how to surprize me, I thought I'd seen all his colors and flower forms. This season (3rd flush) brings pastel colors, some recurve, and different sized flowers.

Just beautiful, Vi! Is this one planted in the ground, or in a pot? Does he winter outside or in? Thanks -- Gretchen

Gretchen, he had been in a pot (seems funny to call a brug, 'he') all last summer and winter, but I planted him in the ground, and there he will stay. (All my brugs did so much better when I just planted without pots) DS is supposed to be hardy, but naturally I'll keep a spare.

I shudder to think I was going to get rid of it because it was too 'common', I don't think they make one like him anymore, good pest resistance, great blooms & scent, and diverse colors, truely a classic.

Vi, I agree... it's hard to beat DS for bug resistance and flower production. The flowers on my DS vary from almost white, to yellow, to orange, depending on what "mood" he happens to be in.

Previous colors of DS, the yellow can get darker also.
